Bluee way to end Mar
It was raining heavily that particular morning. Seeing that she had not turn up, I smsed her...
Me: Yo... u trapped in rain or forgot to wake up...?
After like 30mins later...
She: my husband passed away ytd, heart attack, please do not call me.
Me: Stunned.
I informed my boss and everyone in the dept was so shocked. As she din not want to answer any phone calls, some colleagues tried to get more information from friend's friends who are friends of my colleague's daughter.
Later, we learnt that her husband had a sudden heart attack whilst at home in the afternoon and no one was around. By the time his son returned home from school, he was already cold... and gone...
Its so depressing...bad enough to have a heart attack.. worst that you missed the chance to even see the last of your family. To die alone lonely...
For the other family members, its just as bad... not realising that your loved one had gone that particular minute, particular second. You may be chatting and laughing with your colleague, having lunch, busy clearing the files and at that particular moment, your closest member is struggling with his/her life.
This affected alot of my colleagues, especially the ones closest to her. (including myself) My colleagues advised me not to attend the wake since im pregnant and I feel so gulity about it.
My colleague returned to work. Though she said she is feeling better now and life has to go on but she cried in office yesterday as she suddenly thought of her husband. 我的心好酸。
It is so easy to lose that particular love one.... especially being too long in this industry, I had come across alot of cases whereby accidents just happen and heart attacks occur to very young people. Just a piece of advice, dont say you are still young, dont say it wont happen to you. Please take good care of your health.
