BIG PIECE OF NEWS

Okay, see that? Know what's that? i got the letter from MOE. Surprised surprised surprised. Just went i almost forgot about it, i saw the familiar wordings on the envelope "On Government Service". My heart was thumping..... my friend told me if its a thick wad of envelope then i strike, if its a flimsy piece of letter, then goodbye. However, my definition of thick was an A4 sized envelope with piles of forms to fill. When i saw the normal sized envelope, i thought ok... i got to stay in Insurance industry for the time being. As i tore the envelope open, a fairly thick pile of papers greeted me. I couldn really focus on what's written on it actually and only when i saw the words "offer of appointment", "selected", then i realised what's going on. ha..

Okies, my mind is in a twirl, cannot think straight right now. The letter says i will be going to teach first in Jan next year first before going NIE but my friend says probably they will give me a place since i dont have to clear my EPT. Not sure about this, will have to wait til 20th sept when i go for their briefing session where i will sign the temporary contract and know more.

Now, another piece of information, they amended my teaching subjects, instead of english and a strange subject which i never come across - elements of office admin, they made me teach english and maths....... MY GOD....... I know i majored in statistics while in NUS but what makes you think i can still count and draw diagrams to find the angles??? HA.... This is definitely hilarious, ah teng scribbling formulae on the board and teaching then how to distinguish a noun from a verb?? I always feel language teachers are bad with numbers and vice versa. Can i create a miracle??? i wonder...

All of you must be wondering if i will really take up the offer, i am still thinking it through. This is going to be a big career change and i have to go through it carefully....
