An eventful week

It has been an eventful week recently. The keys to my new flat have been collected and immediately we went to view it. Pineapple, salt and rice were brought along for symbols of good luck. We had to place the pineapple in the middle of the room and the salt and rice were mixed together, sprinkled at every corner of the rooms. In the end, we brought too much salt and rice and had to sprinkle everywhere in the flat instead.

As our flat was completed 3 years ago, some of items were not in tip top condition and my mail box is rusty! Is rust considered a defect? I guess the place needs a lot of cleaning up cos its really dusty due the the construction of the proposed MRT line. There seems to be alot of things to do just to build our dream home... sigh... from the waiting of the walk-in selection from HDB, to keeping our fingers crossed so that we can get our dream unit. After that, sourcing around for the right interior designer and negotiating the prices. Now, we gotta to check out the bank for renovation loan and hunting for the right furniture and fittings. Furthermore, there are still the electrical appliances to consider too. When we thought that we covered everything, there are still the nitty gritty stuff like curtains, lightings which add up to a substantial amount as well. Just the furniture and stuff alone, we forsee they will cost us at least 12-13k. Sigh... donations anyone? ^_^

Anyway, we ordered majority of our furniture from Cellini. The bed frame, sofa, coffee table, tv console, dining table cost us around 3k. Thats quite a bargain actually. But i was quite disappointed cos i din get my L-shaped sofa as the model i like was too large for my living room. That sofa comes in modules, meaning i can get 3 modules and fit it to be a L-shaped but the L part is too long. Eventually, we only got 2 modules though i can still laze on it but still feels quite disappointed.

Besides key collection day, i flew over to Bangkok over the weekend with bunny and his friends for a short holiday. Actually, bunny's intention was to hunt for home decor items whereas mine was to SHOP + hunt for home decor items. I never realised how tiring it is to shop for the whole day. I guess i am not really a shopping queen as my legs were really killing me just after one day of shopping. The 2 other gals in our group could continue shopping throughout. OMG... Bless my exhausted legs and heels, i managed to get 3 bags, 3 bras, a couple of tops and bottoms, earrings and a pair of heels for just over a $100.

However, we were shocked to realise that we spent nearly a $100 just to buy titbits. Til now, bunny still think the auntie overcharged us. This was not the only situation, i think we overcharged us when we had Thai food at one of the restaurant. So my advice to those who are going there to double confirm the prices before paying.

Whatever it is, i did enjoy my shopping spree there though it was anlegs breaking event.
